OUR JOURNEY IS OVER FOR NOW

The ship has been making strange noises for the last few days. Mostly in the rear of the starboard hull. The noises have escalated to a very unpleasant noise. On the night of the 30. 6 – 1.7 we uncovered one of the beam that connects the hulls of the catamaran together. We found a large crack in the beam and the vast majority of the beam was completely soaked and rotten.

It was a very strange sensation. It suddenly dawned on us what was causing the strange noises. Around four o’clock in the morning we anchored in Vieste. It was very windy. The mood was very strange. Since then we have been moving in shorter sections around the coast. Pugnochiuso. A beautiful bay. Mattinata and Manfredonia, where we managed to stay in port for a few days. They bared the entire beam and found a complete disaster. The beam is completely rotten. This is a problem that must have been on the ship for more than a few years and about which no one has informed us at all. We consulted with several experts on the construction of the ship and agreed that it was necessary to remove the ship from the water and carry out extensive repairs.

On Monday 7.7. we pulled the boat out of the water. We remain in Italy, but our journey ends here for the time being.

In the port of Manfredonia we met absolutely wonderful people who helped us a lot. The sailor and shipbuilder Thomas Schlick and the very kind Enzo @enzmrtnl with his wonderful wife and friend Claudio. We would like to thank everyone for their willingness to help us

We have decided to sell the boat and in the meantime we will think about continuing this project. The advert for the sale of the boat is now on the website of the great Scott Brown.
